Ferry routes to the Netherlands
The good news for the Netherlands: there are direct ferries that land you right in the country. Three overnight North Sea crossings carry cars, campervans and foot passengers, and we have made all three ourselves. If a short Channel hop suits you better, you can also sail to France and drive on. Here are all the options.
Direct crossings to the Netherlands
These overnight North Sea sailings land you straight in the Netherlands by morning – no second country, no long drive. They carry cars, campervans and foot passengers, and they are the crossings we recommend for most trips.
The indirect way: via France
If you are starting in the south of England, a short Channel crossing to France and a drive on can work too. It is a longer drive at the far end, but the sailings are quick, frequent and often cheap.
